4. Legal Basis

Where UK GDPR or GDPR applies, we rely on the legal bases that fit the specific use of your information.

This may include performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving the service, your consent for optional uses such as marketing or non-essential cookies, and legal obligations where the law requires us to process or keep information.

5. Saved Content

Your saved links, notes, commitments, reminders, actions, reviews, and reflections are used to provide ActuallyTho and improve the app.

We do not claim ownership of your saved content.

Do not use ActuallyTho to store passwords, payment card details, medical records, government ID numbers, or other highly sensitive information unless the product clearly supports that type of data.

6. Emails, Reminders, and Notifications

ActuallyTho may send emails, reminders, notifications, commitment prompts, review prompts, product updates, account messages, and security messages.

You may be able to control some notifications in the app, through your browser, or through your device settings. Important account, security, or service messages may still be sent even if you opt out of optional communications.

If we send marketing emails, you can unsubscribe using the link in the email or by contacting us.

7. Cookies and Analytics

ActuallyTho may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the website working, remember preferences, measure usage, improve product performance, and protect against misuse.

We may also use analytics tools to understand which pages are visited, which features are used, where users drop off, and how the product can be improved.

Where possible, we aim to use privacy-friendly analytics and avoid collecting unnecessary personal data. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

8. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services for hosting, database storage, authentication, email delivery, analytics, error tracking, notifications, support, and payments.

These providers may process personal information only as needed to provide services to us.

ActuallyTho may also let you save links to third-party websites. We do not control those websites, and their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

9. Payments

ActuallyTho offers a free plan and may offer paid features, including ActuallyTho Pro on iOS.

iOS subscription purchases are handled by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not store full payment card details on our own systems.

RevenueCat may process subscription identifiers, entitlement status, product identifiers, renewal or expiration status, and related purchase metadata so the app can unlock, restore, or remove Pro access correctly.

10. Storage and Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No digital service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and using a strong password where applicable.

If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact us as soon as possible.

11. How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide ActuallyTho, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, improve the service, and protect against misuse.

Account information and saved content are usually kept while your account exists. Support messages may be kept for record-keeping. Analytics may be kept in aggregated or anonymised form. Legal or payment records may be kept where required by law.

When information is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymise, or securely store it as appropriate.

12. Account Deletion

You may request to delete your account by contacting us or using any account deletion feature available in the app.

When your account is deleted, we will aim to delete or anonymise your personal information and saved content, unless we need to keep certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, or operational reasons.

Some information may remain in backups for a limited period before being permanently deleted.

13. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. Under UK GDPR and GDPR, these may include the right to:

We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.
